GABRIEL BATISTUTA - Biography
Gabriel Omar Batistuta, born February 1, 1969, in Avellaneda, Argentina, is a former professional footballer known as "Batigol" or "Re Leone." He played for Club Atlético Boca Juniors, Club Atlético River Plate, ACF Fiorentina, FC Inter, AS Roma, and Al-Arabi Sports Club. Batistuta is Argentina's second-highest goalscorer with 54 goals. He won the Argentine Primera División, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, and Serie A. A six-time Ballon d'Or nominee, he finished fourth in 1999. Batistuta was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame in 2013. After retiring, he worked as a journalist, actor, and part of the Argentine national team staff.
